WE’VE HEARD OF dire situations where captives are forced into cannibalization, etc., due to diminishing resources.
The anguish of selecting who must be sacrificed is something we can imagine.
Now, imagine this…
The people in a village, state, even an entire nation, have been convinced that supplies are running out, and sacrifices must be made, on a grand scale, unlike anything that has ever been required before.
Forecasters say that the earth can sustain only about 60% of its current population, but this is good news, because it will only sustain 20% later — UNLESS SOMETHING IS DONE NOW !!!
Straws are drawn to see who must perish. The system is fair, people are told, with the needs (and wisdom) of society being greater than that of any individual.
And as the sacrifices begin, a door is opened, somehow, to people smart enough to find it and escape. The result is that only the stupid, and those not paying attention, will go !
