Right off, I had to know: What does ethereal mean.*
The Webb telescope “is solving mysteries,” the story concludes, which was apparently what the writing assignment was — to conclude with that.
Yet, that isn’t what readers would gather from reading the story, which is all about how the findings are not consistent with expectations. Hm.
How is anything solved..?
What is solved, perhaps, is the question of whether NASA knows what to think.
* Ethereal: extremely delicate and light in a way that seems too perfect for this world (blink, blink).
